pompa-a-immersione-sunsun-diverse-misure
SunSun Submersible Pump – Various Sizes

Pond pump with high energy efficiency, consuming only 10 watts. It is suitable for ponds up to 3000 liters and can be used as a filter pump, stream pump, or skimmer thanks to the included suction connection. It helps save energy, reducing operating costs.

The SunSun pump is one of the most efficient and reliable submersible pumps on the market. Perfect for aquaponics, hydroponics, aquariums, and small ponds.

When comparing the energy consumption of the CTM series with that of other pond pumps, this model represents a major leap forward in terms of energy efficiency and reliability. Pond and aquarium pumps are devices that run continuously, so every watt saved is significant and has a positive impact on your budget.

Calculation example

A consumption of 5 watts less corresponds to 43.8 kWh less per year: you know your electricity prices and can calculate how much you will save!

In addition to its conventional use as a filter pump or a pump for aquariums and aquaponic/hydroponic systems, the SunSun CTM series pump offers the possibility of being used as a skimmer by connecting it to the suction port.

The delivery also includes a second hose nozzle and a cap for the outlet: if you do not need the suction connection, you can simply close it with this cap.

Skimmer connection / Pump for aquaponics and hydroponics systems

To prevent the filter used in conjunction with these powerful pumps from overflowing, we recommend using a Y-adapter. If used as a connector, you can also feed a stream; you can also use the connector to operate another UV-C clarifier or a filter.

The flow rate of the pond pump must necessarily be adapted to the size of the filter: an excessively high pump flow rate must be avoided at all costs, as this would cause the filter to overflow. It is essential to consider the pond's circulation cycle and the residence time of the water in the filter.

Depending on the type of use, the ideal circulation depends on various factors: the fish population, aquatic plants, sunlight exposure, and the desired water clarity. It goes without saying that other components of the filter circuit must be coordinated if necessary.

The following data can be considered as guidelines:

Koi pond / Fish pond

1 cycle every three hours

2 circulations per hour (without plants and with a large fish population)

Garden pond / Plant pond

In a pond without fish, high circulation is not necessary. As a reference, we can consider one circulation per day, to oxygenate the pond water and keep it in motion.

Swimming pond

Here, circulation depends heavily on the plants and individual requirements. The upper limit is one circulation every 2-3 hours, while the lower limit is "no circulation".

Cleaning

All pond pumps must be cleaned regularly.

SunSun has designed the housing with a handle that makes it easy to disassemble the pump; the housing opens without tools, as it is screwless.
